Citrine
Symbol of the power of the Sun

The Roman legionnaires were wearing Citrine on their chests, to become protected against angry blinks and jealous intrigues. Until the Middle Ages it was respected as the stone of the Sun.

In the English-Scottish war, all Scottish soldiers wore a Citrine brooch amulet that had two functions: it held the kerchief over their shoulders to protect them from cold and besides they believed that Citrine protects them during fights.

According to a Medieval superstition, Citrine is the stone of money, that’s why mostly traders were wearing it. Still nowadays some believe that a Citrine in the wallet increases wealth.

Usually they are free from inclusions, more homogenic than the Amethyst.

By heating the Citrine, on lower temperature it becomes lighter, on higher temperature it thickens. X-ray transforms it into brown, radium radiation into brownish-black.
