Aquamarine
Symbol of Courage
Aquamarine is the blue variation of Berill, in close relation with Emerald. The name is derived from the sea-water (aqua=water, marine=sea), referring to the colour of the sea. In the Ancient times, it considered to fight against the darkness.
It was the talisman of sailors to make sure the safe and successful return. It opens the door to our instincts and awareness to let us enter the world of wisdom.
Until the 19th century the sea-green colour was the most popular, today the preferred variation is the welkin.
The Aquamarine is very sensitive to heat, thanks to this characteristic, it is impossible to reproduce or to manufacture synthetically this precious stone.
